Single Ply Roofing Association 2016 Conference and Awards

This year’s SPRA conference marks the end of our Trading Director Mike Crook’s Chairmanship of SPRA, the Single Ply Roofing Association, and we’re celebrating by sponsoring a live blog of the conference on their website.

The 2015 SPRA Conference was a huge success with speakers from architecture, contracting, product innovation, training and sustainability organisations. You can read our review of it here and check out last year’s live blog.

This year’s conference will take place on Wednesday 22nd June. The participants are being encouraged to engage even further with fewer speakers and instead some interactive panel sessions which were so popular last year. Highlights include

  • An influencing panel session ‘Single Ply Roofing: Could we Do Better?’ with a panel including Peter Inglis of Cullinan Architects,
  • A session about Off Site Manufacture with Charles Westbrook of Westbrook & Bell Ltd,
  • A panel session about Developing a Skilled Workforce in the modern age, and
  • An update on Waste Reduction and Recycling following Jane Gardner’s excellent session last year.

Full details of the event including agenda are on the Live Blog which will be updated as we approach the conference itself and then live on the day, including announcing the award winners in the evening of 22nd June.

If you’re not coming to the conference you can still participate online by

  1. Following the live blog where we’ll be sharing slides, commentary and further information
  2. Follow along on twitter by searching #SPRAConference2016.
  3. Tweet using the hashtag: Tweet: #SPRAConference2016 [Your Message Here]
  4. There’s a special hashtag just for the awards announcements: #SPRAAwards

SPRA LogoAs well as supporting its members, who are manufacturers contractors and individuals involved in Single Ply Roofing, SPRA provides considerable support to specifiers including technical advice, referrals, site inspections and best practice workshops. SPRA is also the sole authority on polymeric single ply roofing membranes recognised by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC).

We hope you enjoy the conference and look forward to talking with you about it online.
