Reduce the cost on metal roofing and cladding

Specifying hard metals for a building project can be prohibitively expensive.  Obtaining zinc, for example, for building projects has always been influenced by the supply of zinc sheeting, normally in 100kg coils.  With a product costing thousands of pounds a tonne, a 100kg coil is expensive, and if for example only 10kg is needed for a project there could be significant waste.

SIG Zinc & Copper has been aware of this issue for some time and a cost saving solution is at hand as parent company SIG plc has invested £1/2 million in a new de-coiler machine, the only one in the UK.

Watch the video above to see the new de-coiler machine in action.

Benefits of UK metal fabrication
