Single Ply Roofing Association 2019 Conference and Awards

We are delighted that once again SIG Design and Technology will be sponsoring a live blog of this year’s SPRA conference and awards. The live blog is a gift from SIGD&T to SPRA by Trading Director and former SPRA Chairman Mike Crook. This is the fifth year we have been live blogging the event.

This year’s conference will take place on Thursday 13th June and is entitled

‘What’s the Risk?’

The interactive panel sessions are very popular, and these will be liberally seasoned with a small group of high-quality speakers.

Highlights include:

  • Keynote address by David Smith, Economics Editor with the Times and Sunday Times under the title ‘What Happens Now?’.
  • An influencing panel session about risks associated with training, not training and the need to embrace new technologies, with speakers from Build UK, the NFRC and TR Control Solutions.
  • A presentation about mental health and wellbeing by Martyn Coyd OBE from Mace Construction & representing The Lighthouse Club Charity. We mentioned the Lighthouse Club in our post during Mental Health Week.
  • A panel session about technical risks, responsibilities and opportunities in relation to Standards, Certification and Digitization with speakers from the CPA, BBA and Bauder Ltd.

In the morning there is a Technical Committee meeting for the SPRA membership, and new for this year is a free parallel morning session for both members and non-members who want to find out more about the work of SPRA, membership benefits & support services and how the organisation is actively influencing the wider industry.

Full details of the event including agenda are on the Event Page. From there you can access the live blog which is also available in a mobile version here.
