SIG Design & Technology Backs Two Charities

SIG Design & Technology has lent its support to help two charities to achieve their goals.

It has sponsored the logistics required for a bikeaid initiative as part of a touraid Legacy Project. touraid is a rugby initiative which takes the sport to deprived children mainly in poorer areas of the world.

This bikeaid collection has amassed 347 bikes plus helmets, locks, tools, spare parts, oil, puncture repair kits and other cycle spares which are on their way to Kenya in a 40 ft. container. They are due to arrive on 23rd July and will be distributed to pupils of the Filadelfia New Life School in Nakuru.
The school has over 550 students who come from some of the poorest and most needy backgrounds in Kenya. bikeaid recognises that millions of garages across the UK are stuffed full of bikes and spare parts and it aims to help transform the lives of children by shipping these bikes and other aid to them. SIG Design & Technology’s donation covered transportation costs.

Meanwhile, staff at the Shepshed HQ individually contributed to a lump sum for Rainbows, the hospice for children and young people. At the sales meeting each D & T team member had to guess the total weight of all delegates. Everyone had previously written their weight anonymously on a card. Weights were totalled and Sara Bexley technical and office administrator won a fiver! The lump sum remaining was forwarded on to Rainbows.
