All installers of FDT membranes have to be accredited by FDT by successfully completing it's training courses. This means that all installers have the right level of knowledge and expertise to apply the membranes, making sure that each roof is a job well done and will last and last. There are two types of accreditation indicating an installers level of expertise. |
Blue Card Blue cards are issued to all installers on completion of their first FDT training course. The card gives installers with little or no experience of the product initial access to the product. The blue status is valid for one year and will lapse unless the next status is achieved. The status means:
- The cardholder is qualified to install FDT products for one year.
- Their employer can buy FDT products.
- Their employer can get access to the FDT product warranty.
- Their employer has full access to FDT technical support.
- The cardholder has access to the next status.

Green Card
Green cards are issued to blue cardholders once they have completed three jobs within a 12 month period or once they have installed 500 square meters of membrane within a 12 month period. The qualification is valid for three years, at which time cardholders are required to complete a new two day course to renew their status. The two day course ensures that accredited installers are up to date on technical information and application methods. Green status is only valid when working for the employer under which they have achieved the status. Cardholders are obliged to inform FDT if they move companies. The status means:
- The employer can buy FDT products.
- The employer has full access to FDT technical support.
- The employer can get access to FDT product warranty.
- The cardholder is accredited to install FDT products for three years.
