Working at Height

‘Falls from height’ are the single largest cause of workplace death and one of the main causes of serious injury: in 2003/4 there were 67 fatal accidents and over 4,000 major injuries.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 came into effect on 6 April 2005, consolidating previous UK and European legislation with the specific intention of reducing the risk of falling. The new regulations require detailed risk assessments to determine the extent of the safety measures required to prevent falls or injuries.

As a market leader in the roofing industry, SIG Design & Technology has set itself the task of becoming an independent source of information to those involved with this aspect of either construction or maintenance.

SIG Design & Technology is able to provide a complete assessment and recommend a product specification that meets the regulations and reduces the risk, including:

  • Personal protective equipment
  • Line running systems
  • Man anchors
  • Handrails and roof-edge guardrails
  • Non-slip walkways and matting
  • Safety netting
  • Access towers and ladders
