A New Flat Roofing Technical Blog

Welcome to the new SIG Design & Technology Technical Blog.

We’ll be using the blog to explore some of your most common roof design questions, about flat roof systems, green roofs and integrating other technologies to help your roof work harder.

SIG Design & Technology provides a complete and impartial design and supply service built around its flat roof products, including green roofing systems. We help roofing designers and contractors make their roofs save energy and carbon, generate energy and integrate with other technologies such as solar collection, drainage and heat pumps.

With decades of experience we’re familiar with many of the problems designers and contractors face when looking at getting the most from a roof, and have examples of successful projects you can use to satisfy your clients and insurers.

Some of the common questions we’ll be investigating in the coming weeks include:

  • Re-roofing buildings whilst in Use
  • Using Single Ply Membranes in exposed coastal positions
  • How to design a flat Threshold to your Roof Terrace
  • Roofing Membranes in bespoke RAL colours
  • Effective Value Engineering of Roofing systems
  • Avoiding Metal Theft on Copper Roofs

Whether you’re an architect, specifier or contractor, we hope that our investigations into the most commonly asked questions about adding value to your roof design will prove helpful.
